Four of my paintings were on public display at the Paisley Centre until the 26th November 2022. Visitors could head on up to the 1st floor and wander around the exhibition for a nice wee day out. The quality of the work on display was terrific!
I find that the best photos for painting are taken with soft lighting from one side, for example sitting next to a window or outside on a bright day.
Photographs that tend not to work well are usually poorly lit, too far away or blurred. I also don’t work from black and white images.
I will often change the background to compliment or contrast with the subject in a loose style.
